Roma have confirmed the signing of forward Santiago Castro from fellow Serie A club Bologna, with the Argentina under-20 international reportedly costing €35m.
Castro will wear the number nine shirt for the Giallorossi, who are preparing to enter their second season under Gian Piero Gasperini.
They will be back in the Champions League for the first time since 2018-19, having edged out Juventus and AC Milan to make the top four last term, alongside Cesc Fabregas’ Como, plus Inter and Napoli.
Gasperini will hope Castro provides an immediate boost to their attack, having scored 11 goals and provided three assists in all competitions last campaign.

Riccardo Orsolini (14 goals, one assist) was the only player with more goal involvements for the Rossoblu as they finished eighth in Serie A, only missing out on European qualification by three points.
Castro had helped Bologna win the Coppa Italia in 2024-25, which was his first campaign in Europe after leaving Velez Sarsfield in Argentina.
The 21-year-old is Roma’s third signing of the summer, after they make Donyell Malen’s loan deal from Aston Villa permanent and brought in centre-back Daniele Ghilardi.
