Fortunately for us, the nostalgic vibes aren’t limited to the plot line: on the day of our Popsugar Pulse cover shoot with Lexi Minetree, Chandler Kinney, and Gabrielle Policano, stylist Ali Claire Marino turned to the 2000s for sartorial direction, too.
The dawn of the new millenium brought us endless fashion inspiration: going-out tops, flirty miniskirts, charm bracelets, double-layer tops, bootcut pants, and so much more. Marino channeled the era flawlessly while staying true to each character’s organic style: lots of pink for Minetree, who stars as Elle Woods; on-trend layering for Kinney who plays the leader of the popular kids, Kimberly; and bold prints for Policano, who landed the role of musician Liz.
Working alongside styling assistant Emma Cabana and tailor Hailey Desjardins, Marino tapped it-brands like Coach, Sandy Liang, and Dries Van Noten while also peppering in vintage finds from Isle of Monday and Gabriel Held Vintage. The result? A 2000s moodboard that will dominate your TikTok feed for the next several months.
