Ederson has signed a new five-year contract with Atalanta following the collapse of his move to Manchester United.
The Brazilian had looked set to join United in a €45m (£38m) deal including add-ons in June, before being called up to Brazil’s World Cup squad as an injury replacement.
When he returned from the tournament to undergo his medical, United claimed they had found significant problems with his knee and thus pulled out of the move.
Atalanta’s director of sport, Cristiano Giuntoli, later admitted La Dea were “stunned” but said they were working on a deal to keep Ederson at the club long-term.
And they have done just that, with the 27-year-old penning a new contract through to June 2031.

Having signed from Salernitana in July 2022, his current deal had been due to expire at the end of the upcoming season.
Ederson has made 180 appearances for Atalanta in all competitions and netted 16 goals, while he was part of the team that won the Europa League in 2023-24.
In 2025-26, none of his team-mates won back possession more often than him (189), and he made the fourth-most passes in all competitions among Atalanta players (1,849), while also having the fourth-most touches (2,432).
