MGM Shenzhen celebrated its second anniversary on July 10 with a gala themed A New Coastal Chapter, A Modern Holiday, bringing together partners and guests to mark the milestone while looking ahead to the hotel’s next stage of development.
Nestled along the Xiaomeisha waterfront, the hotel has spent the past two years shaping a destination where ocean views, entertainment, and lifestyle experiences come together in one stay.
The evening opened with a cocktail reception accompanied by live jazz before a series of speeches reflecting on the hotel’s growth.
Executives from MGM China and Shenzhen Special Zone Development Group highlighted Xiaomeisha’s transformation into one of Shenzhen’s emerging coastal destinations, with Shenzhen MGM playing a key role in that vision.

A ceremonial cake-cutting concluded the formal proceedings before the celebration moved into an evening of performances.

Entertainment remained at the centre of the celebration, reflecting MGM’s long-standing brand identity.

Flamenco dancers, illusion performances, and the Las Vegas-inspired M Show transformed the anniversary gala into a theatrical showcase, while a specially created anniversary menu and appearances by the hotel’s mascot, Leo the Lion, added a festive touch.

The anniversary also introduced the hotel’s summer programme, built around the growing idea of the Sportcation.

Blending leisure with movement and outdoor experiences, the programme features sports activities, family workshops, cultural crafts and children’s experiences, encouraging guests to make the most of Xiaomeisha’s coastline while embracing a more active holiday.
That experience extends well beyond the hotel itself.

Guests can pair their stay with nearby attractions, including Xiaomeisha Ocean World, home to seasonal polar animal experiences and marine education programmes, or spend the evening at Xiaomeisha Beach Park, where art installations, live performances, beer festivals, and waterfront light shows bring new energy to the coastline throughout the summer.

Inside the hotel, 321 sea-view guestrooms, a collection of restaurants spanning Chinese, Mediterranean and international cuisines, the colourful Lobby Lounge and a rooftop Sky Bar to complete the experience.

Together, they reflect the vision behind this year’s anniversary theme: a contemporary seaside destination where entertainment, wellness and coastal living come together for a modern holiday by the sea.
