HCLTech has announced two new partnerships aimed at expanding its AI-led business. The company will work with Nokia on AI-driven network automation for telecom operators and help Finland-based Neste improve efficiency through artificial intelligence and IT transformation.

HCL Technologies Ltd. on Wednesday, June 24, announced two strategic partnerships aimed at boosting its artificial intelligence-led offerings across the telecom and enterprise technology segments.
The company said it has expanded its partnership with Nokia to accelerate autonomous networks through AI-driven network automation, while also signing a long-term agreement with renewable fuels producer Neste to drive an AI-led efficiency transformation.

HCLTech, Nokia partner on AI-driven network automation
In an exchange filing, HCLTech said it will work with Nokia to accelerate the adoption of autonomous networks through AI-driven network automation and the co-development of radio access network applications (rApps).
As part of the collaboration, HCLTech will add four AI-powered rApps to Nokia’s Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) Marketplace, enabling communication service providers (CSPs) to move towards AI-native and self-optimising network operations.
The four applications include an Anomaly Detector rApp for identifying network irregularities, an Energy Optimizer rApp for improving energy efficiency during low-traffic periods, an mMIMO Interference Mitigation rApp aimed at improving signal quality and network efficiency, and a Traffic Balancer rApp designed to reduce congestion and latency.
The companies will also establish a long-term co-innovation roadmap to jointly develop next-generation rApps for 5G and future network architectures.
“Autonomous networks require a strong ecosystem approach built on openness, intelligence and innovation,” said Hari Sadarahalli, Corporate Vice President and Global Head, Engineering and R&D Services, HCLTech.
“Our partnership with Nokia enables us to bring scalable, AI-driven rApps to the forefront, helping operators accelerate network automation, improve efficiency and confidently advance toward self-driving networks,” he added.

Separately, HCLTech said it has been selected as a strategic partner by Finland-based Neste as part of the company’s performance improvement programme focused on strengthening operations and supporting growth in its renewables business.
Under the partnership, HCLTech will drive IT service consolidation, improve operational efficiency and help build a scalable technology capability for the company.

Ajay Bahl, Chief Growth Officer, Energy and Manufacturing at HCLTech, said the partnership would help strengthen Neste’s technology operations.
“This partnership is an important step in strengthening Neste’s IT service delivery and supporting a more efficient operating model with the changing needs of the global energy sector,” Bahl said.
“We look forward to working closely with Neste to ensure a smooth transition and deliver reliable, high-quality services that support their business operational excellence and strategic goals,” he added.
Shares of HCL Tech ended off 0.41% higher at ₹1,114 ahead of the announcements on Tuesday. The stock has declined about 32% so far this year.
