Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: McKennie, Robinson, and more

Soccer

Weston McKennie and Juventus are currently in Serie A’s top-four but have yet to officially clinch their spot just yet.

McKennie and Juventus will take on Fiorentina this Sunday knowing that a home win could clinch their return to the UEFA Champions League next season. The U.S. men’s national team star midfielder has enjoyed his most productive season yet, making 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and adding six assists.

Luciano Spalletti has continued to rely on the 27-year-old McKennie, using him in a wide range of roles over the last few months. With two matches to go against Fiorentina and Torino to close the season, Spalletti will be hoping that McKennie can deliver a strong conclusion to what has been a positive campaign for him.
