Burnley Announces Appointment Of Michael Jackson As Interim Manager

This development was announced by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, where he confirmed that Jackson would take charge until the campaign ends.

He wrote, “Michael Jackson will be Burnley’s interim manager until the end of the season, club statement confirms. Follows Scott Parker leaving with immediate effect.”

Burnley also confirmed the decision on their official website, stating that Jackson will work alongside the current coaching staff.

The club wrote, “Mike Jackson, supported by the existing backroom staff, will take interim charge for the Clarets’ remaining four Premier League fixtures, beginning with Friday’s match away to Leeds United.

“The process of appointing a new permanent Head Coach ahead of the 2026/27 season has begun.”

Scott Parker and the club agreed to part ways after Burnley were relegated from the Premier League.

Despite the disappointing season, the club praised Parker for his efforts, highlighting his achievements during the previous campaign.

They noted that he led Burnley to promotion from the Championship in the 2024/25 season, going on an impressive 33-game unbeaten run and keeping 30 clean sheets.

The statement reads, “During his tenure at Turf Moor, Parker guided the Clarets to a record-breaking season in the 2024/25 campaign, securing Burnley promotion from the Championship to the Premier League, with a 33-match unbeaten run, keeping a remarkable 30 clean sheets.

“The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Scott for his professionalism, dedication and contribution. He leaves with the respect and gratitude of everyone connected with Burnley Football Club.”

While Parker successfully guided Burnley back to the top flight last season, this year proved difficult, with the team managing only four league wins.

Their relegation was confirmed on April 22 after a 1–0 loss at home to Manchester City, shortly after Wolves also dropped out of the league.
