Soccer Watch: Nigerian fan tells Leroy Sané to beg Pep Guardiola to end Arsenal’s title curse

A Nigerian football fan was spotted asking a Galatasaray star to plead with his former boss, Pep Guardiola, to allow Arsenal to win the English Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Just a few weeks ago, the Premier League title race appeared to be a foregone conclusion, with Arsenal holding a commanding six-point lead at the summit. However, the race has since been blown wide open.

Before Arsenal defeated Newcastle on Saturday, they sat second behind Manchester City, separated only by goal difference. Although the Gunners have now reclaimed the top spot, the Cityzens have a crucial game in hand against Crystal Palace.

Guardiola’s men seem to have the momentum, while Arsenal have looked shaky and lacking the oomph needed to power them for the rest of the season. For many fans, the situation feels like déjà vu — another season potentially added to the 21-year drought since they were last crowned champions of England.

As it stands, both Manchester City and Arsenal have their fates in their own hands. However, going by recent history, Guardiola’s side holds the upper hand.

Arsenal Fan Asks Sané to Call Guardiola for Arsenal’s Sake

Peak Sxnti, a popular Arsenal fan on social media, was recently at Rams Park to witness the Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce which ended 3-0 in the former’s favour.

The trip was sponsored by Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen, giving the influencer a chance to meet several Galatasaray stars. Among the stars they met was former Manchester City winger Leroy Sané.

During their interaction, Peak Sxnti jokingly urged Sané to call Guardiola and ask him to let Arsenal win the league. Sané, leaning into the banter, laughingly declined the request.

This year’s title race is guaranteed to provide fans with a nail-biting finish, and from the look of things, the battle may very well go down to the final day of the season.

Meanwhile, in Turkey, Sane and Osimhen are set to wrap up the title with Galatasaray. Following their win over Fenerbahce, they just need to win one more game to be crowned champions of the Super Lig for the fourth consecutive season.
