Jeglertz wants Man City to focus on the details amid title wobble

Soccer

Andree Jeglertz insisted he is not worried about Manchester City’s wobble, though he stressed the importance of focusing on the fine margins.

Man City’s Women’s Super League title charge hit a bump in the road on Saturday, as they lost 3-2 to Brighton.

City squandered a fantastic chance to move 12 points clear of second-place Chelsea, even though Kerolin put them ahead early on.

Goals from Madison Haley and Kiko Seike either side of half-time flipped the script, though.

Haley then made it 3-1 to the Seagulls, who held on despite Khadija Shaw’s late effort.

Arsenal have three games in hand on City, while Chelsea are now still in the fight, but Jeglertz is still confident.

“I’m not worried. You learn a lot in these games and I am fully sure that when we are back in training, we will be focused for Liverpool next week,” Jeglertz told Sky Sports.

“It is still in our hands. We will do everything we can to finish off with two wins.

“It’s about details. It was a tough game, but it is about scoring goals. We created a lot of chances in the first half and we needed to score.

“Brighton challenged us a lot – we need to protect our penalty box a little better.

“It’s important we learn from this game. We dropped a couple of percentages in some moments and we were punished.”

Man City need five points to guarantee the title, which would be their first WSL success since 2016.
