Zee Nxumalo leads Metro FM Music Awards 2026 nominations with seven nods

South African music star Zee Nxumalo is celebrating a major career milestone after bagging seven nominations at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026.

The talented vocalist earned nominations in some of the biggest categories, including Artist of the Year, Best Female Artist, Best Styled Artist and Best Music Video for her hit track Mamma featuring Skillz and Sykes.

She also secured recognition across multiple genres through her collaborations.

These include a nomination for Best Maskandi for Sajola Kamnandi alongside Simonofu, Best Kwaito/Gqom for Ngyasindelwa with DJ Lag and KC Driller, and Best Lekompo for Rato Laka with Shebeshxt, Naqua SA and Slidoo Man.

Taking to Instagram after the nominations were announced, an excited Zee Nxumalo admitted she was overwhelmed by the achievement.

“I don’t know how to feel 👀 BUT I DO KNOW THAT 7 nominations is definitely something to be grateful for. So which category are we bringing home,” she wrote.

Fans and industry peers quickly flooded her comment section with congratulatory messages, praising her hard work and consistent growth in the music industry.
