Riversdale Art Walk spotlights arts and culture in the Riversdale neighbourhood.

Four times a year, artists, businesses and the community come together to present unique local art exhibitions, installations and live entertainment.

Highlights for this walk include a fire performance by Salty Circus, a large-scale community painting responding to the war in Iran, live music performances, and 25 exhibitions celebrating the White Buffalo Youth Lodge’s 25th anniversary.

The Saskatoon Brass Band presents Hymn of the Highlands.

Philip Sparke’s Hymn of the Highlands is the highlight of the performance, with each movement named after a location in the Scottish Highlands.

The Megastars of Country Music is a tribute to some of the biggest hits in country music.

The live concert pays homage to legendary singers and songwriters, including Alan Jackson, George Strait and Brooks and Dunn.

Yee Hawtty’s Yallternative Hoedown is a western, gothic, emo drag show.

Moody, dark and fun, the show combines genres for an evening of excitement.

The audience is invited to dress up and participate in a costume contest with prizes. There will also be other western goth goodies.

Persephone Theatre and Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre present Rubaboo: A Métis Cabaret, written by Andrea Menard.

The word rubaboo is derived from the Michif word for “leftover stew” or “big pot.” Similarly, the show offers up a musical journey that highlights the beauty of Métis culture. Performances include songs of reconciliation, unity, love, frustration and resilience.
