On this year’s Resurrection Sunday, while the Easter Bunny was out delivering chocolates, candies, and eggs, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was in Shreveport, handing out advice and tutelage to the next generation of football players at a local youth camp.
Kamara, whose future in his playing career has been a talking point in New Orleans’ offseason, spent his Easter afternoon with school-aged children and athletes on the campus of Southwood High School. The RB was joined at the camp by members of the Louisiana Rouxgaroux, the state’s professional arena football team in the National Arena League.
Camp attendees were taught drills and exercises focused on the fundamentals of football as well as valuable life skills such as leadership and good teamwork.
New Orleans recently acquired Louisiana native and former Jacksonville Jaguar tailback Travis Etienne Jr. by signing him to a deal in free agency. However, this move by the team has led many to question whether Kamara will remain on the Saints’ roster through this offseason.
Alvin is entering his tenth year in the NFL, all of which have been played in the Big Easy. Kamara was a 2017 third-round draft pick by New Orleans and has been a veteran presence as well as a key offensive weapon ever since.
