Super Eagles and Sevilla striker Akor Adams has weighed in on his side’s loss to Real Oviedo as they fall deeper into trouble in the Spanish La Liga, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old played all 90 minutes at the Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere, but was unable to make a difference as his side fell short, although he was guilty of squandering a few chances.
Following the loss to Oviedo, Luis Garcia’s side find themselves 17th on the La Liga table, in real trouble of demotion to the second tier of Spanish football after a run of five winless games.

Sevilla played most of the game with ten men after Tanguy Nianzou was sent off in the 38th minute, making their chances of overturning the one-goal deficit a tad harder.
Still, Adams refused to blame the referee for what many have termed to be an ‘arguable’ call to send the Frenchman off. Instead, he urged his teammates to look inward.

“The result was a shame. It wasn’t what we had prepared with the new manager, and we have to reset and forget this result as soon as possible,” the ex-Montpellier man said in quotes revealed by Elsevillistas.
“We didn’t lose because of the referees, but we had several incidents went against us. For example, Djibril Sow nearly broke his leg,” Adams concluded.

Sevilla will against Atletico Madrid on Saturday, in the hopes of turning their season around with eight league games left to play.
