The new restaurant follows the brand’s mission to Live Great. Eat Greek, with every dish made fresh and in-house from authentic recipes passed down generation after generation.

Guests will find a wide variety of customizable options, including the Classic Greek Salad and Rice Bowl with a choice of Gyro Meat, Salmon, or several other protein choices. They can also indulge in unique offerings like fresh, made-to-order Feta Fries and must-have desserts like Baklava Ice Cream and Rice Pudding.

The location is owned by Joseph Nichols, who will be joined by several generations of his family, including his father and nephew.

“Our family is excited to share The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill’s delicious meals with the Layton community,” Nichols said. “We’re located at the entrance to Layton’s Restaurant Row that includes some of the best dining north of Salt Lake City – so hungry visitors can’t miss us.”

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill also specializes in catering large parties, events and meetings. It’s perfect for family gatherings, offering memorable, mouth-watering Mediterranean spreads complete with bold flavors that leave a lasting impression. Choose from build-your-own Gyros and savory Souvlaki Skewers, accompanied by buttery Rice Pilaf, crisp Greek Salad, authentic dips and delectable desserts to impress guests at any event.

“During my very first dining experience at a Great Greek Mediterranean Grill I had the Grilled Steak Souvlaki, and I think that will always remain my favorite dish on the menu,” Nichols added. “It is steakhouse quality, and being cooked to order makes it an extra-special option.”

Nichols has two master’s degrees in business administration from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and biomedical engineering from The University of Utah. He also holds an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University.

As part of the Layton launch celebrations, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill invites the public to attend a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony in collaboration with the Davis Chamber of Commerce on April 9th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The restaurant will also be encouraging donations to the Utah Youth Village, a nonprofit organization that operates a network of Treatment Foster Homes, home intervention, Alpine Academy, and Smarter Parenting website for families with troubled teens.

Nichols has connections to the Farmington High School Choral Program and the Hopebox Theater, where he and his wife first met and continue to be active members of the community theater group.

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill’s new restaurant covers 1,512 square feet, seating 30 guests in its dining room and two outside. Pickup and delivery are available. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
