The Gigabyte MO27Q28GR is a new 280Hz Tandem OLED monitor, now with a glossy panel for improved clarity and colors. Available now for $599.99, it arrives as a budget alternative to similar models already on the market.

Gigabyte has now released the MO27Q28GR in the US after showcasing it last month during CES 2026. As we previously reported, it’s built around the 280Hz Tandem OLED panel from LG Display, bringing upgrades like 1,500 nits peak brightness in HDR and improved color reproduction with 99.5% DCI-P3 coverage, all while consuming 20% less power compared to 3rd Gen WOLED monitors.

As a result, this monitor is similar to the Gigabyte MO27Q28G released in 2025. The main difference here is the display coating. While the older model has a matte finish, the new MO27Q28GR offers buyers a glossy option for the same 280Hz Tandem OLED panel, serving as an alternative to the Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG (curr: $649 at Amazon). Both panel finishes have their own advantages, but glossy panels tend to deliver more vibrant colors and deeper blacks, especially in well-lit environments.

That said, the MO27Q28GR is priced at the same $599.99 at Amazon as the matte version, making it $50 cheaper than the Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG, which is currently available for $649. Moreover, the Gigabyte model adds a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port, albeit with only 15W Power Delivery. On the other hand, spending $50 more on the Asus model gets you a proximity sensor designed to help reduce burn-in. Amazon lists a March 5 – 9 shipping date.

The Gigabyte MO27Q28GR comes with the following ports:

  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 1 x USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode, 15W)
  • 1x USB Type-B (upstream)
  • 2x USB Type-A
