Former Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has named Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as one of the three best players in the world currently, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has made a massive impact at Galatasaray since arriving from Napoli in a deal worth €75 million last summer.

This season, the Nigerian forward has been clinical, racking up 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.

His clinical form has propelled the Cimbom to the summit of the Süper Lig table as they look to defend their title.

On the continental stage, although Galatasaray have exited the Champions League, Osimhen played a pivotal role in guiding them to the Round of 16—the first time a Turkish club has reached that stage in over a decade.

While the 27-year-old has earned plaudits from across the football world, his teammate Torreira believes the Super Eagles star is on a different level entirely.

In a recent interview, the Uruguayan midfielder ranked Osimhen alongside Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé as the best three players in the world right now.

“Federico Valverde, Kylian Mbappé, and Victor Osimhen are currently the world’s best footballers,” Torreira told MK News Turkey.

By including Osimhen in that elite trio, Torreira suggests the Nigerian is currently outperforming other global football superstars like Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane, Vinícius Jr., and Erling Haaland.

It is a big endorsement coming from a player of Torreira’s pedigree, who enjoyed successful stints at Arsenal and Atlético Madrid before moving to Istanbul.

Victor Osimhen’s explosive campaign in Turkey has inevitably put him back on the radar of Europe’s elite, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus believed to be monitoring his situation.

However, a move remains complicated. Osimhen has frequently expressed his love for the atmosphere at Galatasaray, and he is currently earning a record-breaking salary—the highest in the history of the Süper Lig.

While a transfer this summer appears unlikely, the sheer quality of the former African Footballer of the Year means a high-profile move in the near future can never be ruled out.
