Ferman Shares New Single ‘Old Hipster Blues’

Italian-born, London-based musician Ferman shares his new single ‘Old Hipster Blues‘, arriving on March 13th across all streaming services. Listen now HERE.

Another in your face rock and roll number that nods to early White Stripes material, ‘Old Hipster Blues’ tells the story of a man learning to love himself through love and fear.

Alongside the track, Ferman has unveiled a music video directed by George Kashcheev. Filmed in Bethnal Green on a grey winter day, the video follows the musician as he struts down his neighborhood streets dressed in a sharp suit whilst singing the song. The surprise element comes from a dance routine choreographed by Brenda Nassali-Liston which takes its inspiration from the Christopher Walken moves in 2000’s Fatboy Slim song Weapon of Choice.

‘It was important to me to film in Bethnal Green, because that’s where the song was written and I’m very much part of the community. I didn’t want the classic rock and roll video and I love to dance, so I thought I’d through in some moves in. George understood what I wanted from the very beginning and Brenda designed a routine that is perfect for the song’ – Ferman.

Italian native Ferman is a London-based songwriter and recording artist who found his voice later in life. After years of playing guitar in garage rock band Ora Violet, he didn’t start singing until his 40s, when he finally wrote the deeply personal low-fi rock and roll songs he had avoided for decades.

His 2025 debut EP “Poser” and festival performances at Glastonbury, SXSW London, and his recent London sold out headline show mark the arrival of an artist whose story resonates in a world that is waking up to the idea of the late bloomers. Listen to Ferman HERE.
