A 19-year-old Venezuelan male was chopped to death early yesterday morning.
He has been identified as Jesus Carlos Sivedre, of 43 A Harmony Hall, Gasparillo.
According to police, Sivedre was at a bar on Leotaud Street in San Fernando with his brother, when at around 4 a.m., he got into an altercation with three Trinidadian men allegedly over women of Venezuelan nationality. The men—two of whom were described to be of Indian origin, both slim built, one with long hair and the other with short hair, and the third described as of African descent—followed Sivedre and his brother. Sivedre, jumped a wall, to escape the men. The three men were then seen entering the premises and later leaving the scene in a silver Nissan wagon.
Yesterday, at around 5.30 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight at the corner of Rigsby and Imrie streets in San Fernando.
When police arrived at the location, they were told that the resident was awakened by the sounds of fighting and broken bottles around 4.45 a.m.
Upon investigating, the homeowner discovered Sivedre’s body clad in his underwear in a pool of blood. There were multiple chop wounds to both legs, both hands, and the abdomen.
There were several broken glass bottles at the scene and blood on the roadway and the gate.
