Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray face a daunting path in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals if they survive their high-stakes clash with Liverpool this Wednesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Turkish giants travel to Anfield for the second leg of their Round of 16 tie against the six-time winners. The Cimbom head into the lions’ den carrying a slender but precious 1-0 lead from the first leg in Istanbul.

However, Arne Slot’s men will be out for blood on Wednesday, backed by the famously partisan Anfield crowd.

For Galatasaray to progress, the mission is clear: avoid defeat. While a draw would be enough to see them through, any loss by more than a single goal would see their European dreams end in heartbreak.

The Istanbul club will be leaning heavily on their talisman, Victor Osimhen, to deliver once again. The Nigerian striker has a history of haunting the Reds; he scored Galatasaray’s lone goal when the sides met in the group stage and provided the vital assist for Mario Lemina’s winner last week.

Waiting in the quarter-finals are Paris Saint-Germain. Les Parisiens cruised into the next round on Tuesday night after dismantling Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, completing a dominant 8-2 aggregate victory.

Due to the predetermined knockout bracket, the winner of the Liverpool-Galatasaray tie is locked into a collision course with the French champions.

This would undoubtedly be Galatasaray’s toughest assignment of the season. As the reigning Champions League holders, PSG boast one of the most formidable squads in world football.

Unfortunately for the Cimbom, Luis Enrique’s side appears to be hitting their peak form at the perfect time after a patchy start to the campaign.

Overcoming the French big boys over two legs would require nothing short of a footballing miracle.
