Football Vikings vs. Bears betting preview, picks

Bears (+1.5) vs. Vikings

Caleb Williams had an up-and-down rookie season, but Chicago saw enough to decide to make heavy investments around him this offseason. The Bears hired Johnson, the former Lions offensive coordinator, as the head coach, added three new starters on the interior offensive line, and then spent first and second-round picks on drafting tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden III. Meanwhile, the Vikings will turn to a quarterback who has yet to throw an NFL pass and will be running out several players in their 30s at premium positions. The model has Chicago covering in over 50% of simulations on Monday night.

Under 44 total points

For as good as the Chicago offense could be, those are all theoretical gains at this point, and the reality is that the Bears finished 28th in scoring and dead-last in total offense in 2024. For Minnesota, the uncertainty surrounding McCarthy is worth noting, but the bigger deal is probably the absence of Jordan Addison, who is serving a three-game suspension. The model says the Under hits in well over 50% of simulations.
