Sunday Oliseh reveals the one factor that can stop Arsenal from winning the Premier League

Former Super Eagles and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sunday Oliseh has revealed one factor Arsenal have to be wary of in the race for the Premier League title, Soccernet.ng reports.

Mikel Arteta’s men have been second in the English top-flight over the past three seasons, but are front-runners in the race for a gold medal this season.

All of their other competitors have been largely inconsistent, giving the Gunners a six-point gap over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

In previous seasons where Arsenal have been at the top of the Premier League for the majority of the season, they’d usually self-sabotage at crucial moments; that is something Oliseh warned against.

With 14 league games left to play, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder believes Arsenal have everything to take the lead over the line, bar the belief in themselves.

“The only team that can stop Arsenal from winning the league this year is Arsenal, not any of the other teams,” the 51-year-old said on the Sunday Oliseh Global Insight podcast.

“This is because the current Manchester City squad is one of the worst I’ve seen in years, and the surprising part is that they’re in second place.

“This league should have been over. If it weren’t the English Premier League, Arsenal would have carted away the title.

“Why Arsenal aren’t ten points ahead is because their self-belief isn’t totally there right now.

“They are so well-structured, they have the right players and are tactically on point, but what can stop them is themselves.

“If it comes to a point where they need support from the bench, and they don’t get it, they might lose, that’ll be very important.

“In the latter stages of the Champions League, these things will come into play. It won’t deal with only the players anymore. The manager has to manoeuvre.

“Like Ancelotti in the past, Real Madrid didn’t play well, but they won.

“Arsenal are ready to win the title, but there’s still a 10% chance they don’t win, but it falls in their favour currently,” Sunday Oliseh concluded.

Arsenal will still play against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Newcastle United to certify their place as the Champions of England.
