All of Lady Gaga’s Grammys Looks Through the Years

Music

Understated. Minimalistic. Predictable.

None of these words have ever been used to describe Lady Gaga’s risk-taking fashion at the Grammy Awards over the years, and surely, the Grammys 2026 will be no exception.

Mother Monster is nominated in seven categories this year, including album of the year, a win that eluded her the four previous times she was nominated for it, including at the 2010 Grammys, the very first time she attended the ceremony.

The old saying goes that you should begin as you intend to continue, and Gaga did just that with her inaugural Grammys fashion, combining high fashion with her own avant-garde tendencies, not to mention donning multiple looks throughout the night. At that first ceremony in 2010, Gaga walked the carpet in a sculptural, galactic Armani Privé dress with a high-low structured hem over a tulle catsuit. She clutched a gigantic bejeweled star as she teetered in on embellished platform boots, all but inviting headlines of “a star is born.”

When she performed alongside Elton John later that night, she wore another Armani creation, this one a shimmering bodysuit with exaggerated shoulders and high-cut legs. The outfit was covered all over with green and blue crystals, as were her platform booties, looking like some kind of alien mermaid who grew legs and learned to play the piano (celebratory).

But wait, there was more! Gaga, though she may have been a Grammys rookie, donned a third Armani look that night, pulling an origami-inspired silver gown over her catsuit paired with an oversized lightning-bolt-shaped headpiece, audience sight lines be damned, created by Philip Treacy. Not bad for a first-timer.

Then, of course, the very next year, she showed up to the Grammys encased in an egg-like Hussein Chalayan–designed vessel conveyed down the red carpet by a crowd of Little Monsters dressed in peachy-nude-colored latex ’fits, then she “hatched” onstage to perform “Born This Way” in her own nude latex Mugler ensemble.

Ahead, take a look at all of Lady Gaga’s Grammys fashion through the years, be it her custom Marc Jacobs tribute to David Bowie in 2016, the blush pink tulle Armani Privé confection she wore to perform in 2018, or any of Gaga’s other high-fashion, otherworldly looks.
