Lauren Auder will release new album ‘Whole World As Vigil’ on March 27th.
The creative multi-hyphenate is a pivotal name across music and fashion, with Lauren Auder’s sublime opening salvo of EPs leading to her 2023 debut ‘the infinite spine’.
A frequent collaborator, she’s stepped into the studio with the likes of Vegyn, Danny L Harle, Caroline Polachek and more, while Lauren Auder has also modelled for Marni, Gucci, Celine, Alexander McQueen, Ann Demeulemeester and Gann.
Returning at the end of last year with Madchester-inclined new single ‘yes’, she’s just confirmed plans for her next album.
‘Whole World As Vigil’ is set to be released through untitled (recs) on March 27th, and new single ‘Praxis’ is out now.
Balancing industrial noise with her innate pop instincts, the track is a furious blend of gleaming light and roaring dark. She comments…
“‘praxis’ is built around a sample of a power drill cutting through metal, its seemingly perpetual motion and unstoppable movement felt apt to parallel with an important part of my own philosophy, that keeping yourself moving forward, is enough to live for. Musically I was inspired by Steve Reich, Kate Bush and Bruce Springsteen, trying to bring all these worlds together in a way that felt uniquely me.”
