It is still unclear whether Chelsea will do much business before the January window closes, but come summer, Todd Boehly is expected to open the chequebook once again.
Over the past couple of seasons, Boehly has shown a preference for making his moves in the summer. Ahead of this campaign, Chelsea spent around £300m on 10 new signings, including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato.
The upcoming summer window looks set to be busy as well. A new goalkeeper is high on the list, with Mike Maignan a long-standing target and Roma’s Mile Svilar also being linked to Stamford Bridge.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that centre-back Jeremy Jacquet is now on Chelsea’s radar for the summer. The club are also looking at options up front, with Estevao particularly keen on one of their latest striker targets.
Estevao speaks highly of Vitor Roque after Palmeiras spell

Estevao’s path has been a bit more straightforward than Roque’s. He has only played for two clubs so far. He moved from Cruzeiro to Palmeiras at 14, made 83 appearances, and then made his way to Stamford Bridge in a £29m move.
The 20-year-old striker has already played for five different clubs at just 20 years old: Cruzeiro like Estevao, Athletico Paranaense, Barcelona, Betis on loan, and back to Palmeiras in Brazil in January for a record fee.
Estevao offered his opinion on the arrival of the former Barcelona forward at his beloved Palmeiras. Quoted by ESPN following the transfer to Chelsea, the 18-year-old described Roque as a “star”.
“He will certainly be very welcome. Vitor Roque is a star player and will be alongside other stars here. It’s like Abel (Ferreira) says: we younger players are very privileged to be in a team like Palmeiras,” he began by saying.
“He’s a star player, and I hope we can play together a bit, because it will work out. He will certainly be very well received; the group is good, hardworking, and dedicated. We always strive for titles and more wins.”
Why Chelsea should focus on experience over potential in the transfer window
Looking at top clubs across Europe, there’s a clear trend: proven strikers lead the line. From Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski to Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, these are players with established track records.
Chelsea already have three young forwards with plenty of potential. So, does it make sense to add another one? Joe Hart believes Marc Guiu fits what Liam Rosenior wants from a striker.
Liam Delap has shown real promise, though Rosenior has had to address concerns about his confidence. Joao Pedro continues to impress too, recently scoring his second league goal in as many matches.
However, all three still lack top-level experience. With Emmanuel Emegha expected to join this summer, adding another young forward might not be the best move. Instead, Chelsea should consider bringing in someone with more experience to balance the group.
