Soccer Trinity Rodman, the daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, has signed a three-year contract with the Washington Spirit for 1 million euros a year, becoming the highest-paid player in women’s soccer history.

Trinity Rodman, daughter of NBA great Dennis Rodman, has revolutionized women’s soccer history. The Washington Spirit of the US Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced a record-breaking new contract for the 23-year-old star player.

The signing, effective January 2026, makes Trinity Rodman the highest-paid player in women’s soccer in the world. The details of the contract are astonishing:

-Contract Term: 3 Years (until the end of the 2028 season)

-Annual Earnings: Over 1 million euros per year with bonuses.

With this figure, Rodman has overtaken the likes of Aitana Bonmatí, who has been at the top in recent years, to become the world’s number one.

This signing initially seemed difficult due to the NWSL’s strict salary cap rules. However, the league introduced the “High Impact Player” rule to keep elite players in the United States. Thanks to this exception, which has already come to be known as the “Rodman Rule” in soccer circles, the Washington Spirit were able to bypass the salary cap and make their young star the offer she deserved.

“I feel great, I believe this signing is a game-changing, historic moment for women’s soccer. We are opening new doors for young girls with dreams,” Trinity Rodman said after the signing.

Trinity, who was constantly compared to her father at the beginning of her career as the daughter of Dennis Rodman, has created her own brand with her performance. Rodman, who won the gold medal with the US National Team at the 2024 Paris Olympics and is the key name of the offensive line called “Triple Espresso”, is now seen not only as the “daughter of a legend” but also as the global face of women’s football.
