Film is done in a very nice way”.

A Thought That Transcends Borders

In the same video, Dharmendra delivers a message that has struck an emotional chord with viewers. Marking his final day on set, he says, “I think in India and Pakistan both should see the picture. I’m a bit happily sad today, for the last day of shooting. I love you all, if I made any mistake, please forgive me”.

The statement has further amplified the emotional weight surrounding the film’s release.

Sunny Deol’s Emotional Note

Sharing the video, Sunny Deol accompanied it with a deeply personal caption that reflects his admiration and love for his father.

He wrote, “A smile that lit up the darkness. Generosity without limits. Love for my papa is deeply rooted in our hearts. He has blessed us with his final film, Ikkis. Let’s celebrate him in movie halls this New Year”. (sic)

Inside the World of Ikkis

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is inspired by the life of Arun Khetarpal, one of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardees. Khetarpal was martyred at just 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, an age that gives the film its title. The lead role is played by Agastya Nanda, with the film opting for authenticity and restraint over conventional spectacle.

Dharmendra’s key appearance lends the narrative both emotional depth and historical weight.

A War Story Told With Restraint

Rather than relying on heightened drama, Ikkis centres on military discipline, battlefield decisions, and personal courage. Staying close to documented history, the film aims to portray the human cost of war while honouring a hero whose legacy continues to resonate.
