According to Esports.net sources, Jeremiah “Nium” Harrison is set to sign for the LA Thieves in the Call of Duty League (CDL), following an incredibly quick U-turn as the Challengers star was all set to join Carolina Royal Ravens.
LA Thieves have had a fairly good start to the 2026 CDL season, opening with a 2-1 record; however, fans have been vocal in demanding improvement.
While there were heavy rumors linking them with the signing of Mohammed “Alluka” Bindal (before he joined FaZe Vegas) to replace Kenneth “Kenny” Williams, the team never followed through and continued to show support for the player who had won them a world championship in the 2022 season.
But has that now changed?
Is Nium Replacing Kenny?
Nium has been recognized as one of the stronger players on the Huntsmen and, according to several around the scene, has been identified as one of the more “pro-ready” players in Challengers.
However, we don’t believe that he will be immediately slotted into the starting roster. Instead, he will be utilized as a substitute – similar to Alluka on FaZe – giving Thieves the opportunity to use him as they see fit.
How this impacts OpTic Texas-owned Challengers team, Huntsmen, is unclear. If he is just a substitute for LA Thieves, it may make him eligible to continue playing for them in Challengers, while being available to Thieves if they choose to make a roster change.
If he is off the team, OpTic CEO Hector “HECZ” Rodriguez has made it clear that he wants the team to focus on developing talent, not former pros. As a result, you won’t see any veteran players join the team; instead, expect to see those who are still looking for a platform to reach the CDL to be in the mix.
At the time of writing, he is expected to continue playing for the Huntsmen.
What Happened with Nium to Carolina Royal Ravens?
Nium was initially selected over Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale to join Carolina Royal Ravens. Exceed has had stints in the league in the past with Minnesota Rokkr and LA Guerrillas, but struggled to truly make his mark on the pro level.
However, a last-minute call from the LA Thieves camp put a stopper on those plans. According to our sources, although Nium had signed his contract with the Ravens, OpTic had not yet approved the loan agreement that was put in place when Thieves reached out.
Once Thieves made contact with Nium, it became clear that LA was his preference over a loan move to Carolina. Per sources, OpTic didn’t sign the agreement as a result. This opened the door for Nium to discuss with Thieves rather than complete a loan move to the Ravens.
According to our sources, Exceed performed incredibly well in his Carolina Royal Ravens trial, so it will be interesting to see whether he can help them get some wins under their belt in 2026.
