Caesars Entertainment is ending the year on a philanthropic note, with its three Atlantic City–based casinos donating a total of $15,000 to local charities, including the 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, the Brighton Avenue School, and the Headstrong Project.
Who Are the Recipients?
The Headstrong Project, a nonprofit mental health organization, will use the donation to continue delivering confidential, accessible, and stigma-free PTSD treatment for veterans. Meanwhile, Brighton Avenue School, which serves students from pre-K through fifth grade, will allocate the contribution to purchasing warm clothing items. including shirts, coats, and hats, for students in need.
Last, but not least, the 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties is a nonprofit committed to supporting the families of police, fire, and rescue personnel who have been injured or lost their lives in the line of duty or through acts of heroism. The organization will direct the funds toward its financial assistance programs, helping the families of these heroes.
Officials Talk About the Charity
Jacob Witmer, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Atlantic City, emphasized that mental health challenges do not subside during the holidays and are often intensified during this time of year. He said Caesars Atlantic City is proud to support The Headstrong Project and the meaningful impact it has on veterans and their families. He explained that the organization’s work is essential and that the company remains committed to standing with the veteran community during a particularly challenging season.
Meanwhile, Joseph Giunta, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, said that helping ensure local students have warm clothing during the winter months is a simple yet meaningful way to support families in the community. He added that Brighton Avenue School plays a vital role in caring for its students and expressed pride in being able to help provide resources that make a tangible difference for children in need.
Gregg Klein is the senior vice president and general manager of Tropicana Atlantic City and president of the 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. He noted that the holiday season can be particularly challenging for families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Klein also added that supporting the 200 Club is especially meaningful to him and expressed pride in his team’s ability to give back to an organization that supports first responders and their families during their times of greatest need.
