Ahl Masr Burn Hospital Concludes First Scientific Forum, Prepares for Expanded Second Edition in 2026

Ahl Masr Burn Hospital successfully concluded the inaugural edition of its First Medical Forum for Burn Care after two days of intensive scientific discussions and knowledge exchange, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the World Health Organization.

The Forum marked the first scientific platform of its kind dedicated exclusively to burn care in Egypt, reinforcing the hospital’s mission to advance specialized medical knowledge and elevate standards of treatment across the country.

The event brought together an elite group of local, regional, and international experts, including professors, consultants, surgeons, nurses, and healthcare practitioners from multiple disciplines. A total of twelve internationally recognized experts participated, contributing to rich scientific dialogue and the exchange of global best practices.

The scientific program featured 14 panel discussions and 11 specialized presentations, addressing critical topics such as burn management in resource-limited settings, rehabilitation and psychosocial support, advances in acute burn care, early surgical intervention, intensive care unit (ICU) management, infection control, and the vital role of nutrition in patient recovery.

“The success of this first edition is only the beginning of a long-term strategic journey,” said Dr. Heba El Sewedy, Founder and Chairwoman of Ahl Masr Foundation and Burn Hospital. “We are already preparing for the second edition next year, with a broader scientific agenda, wider international participation, and deeper global partnerships. This momentum strengthens the Forum’s position as a leading regional platform that will contribute to shaping future policies, treatment models, and standards of burn care across Egypt.”

During the Forum’s closing ceremony, participating doctors and experts were honored for their outstanding scientific contributions. The awards were presented by Dr. El Sewedy alongside Professor Naim Moamen, Chairperson of the Medical and Scientific Research Board, in recognition of their role in enriching the Forum and enhancing the impact of its first edition.

The Forum reflects Ahl Masr Burn Hospital’s ongoing commitment to building a sustainable, world-class ecosystem for burn treatment in Egypt. By localizing global expertise and translating it into practical solutions on the ground, the hospital continues to drive meaningful change in this highly specialized medical field, with the ultimate goal of ensuring equitable, life-saving care for burn patients across Egypt and the region.
