The high school football season around the country has wrapped up and with that comes honors for coaches and players from the 2025 season. One state out of the Midwest region that is starting to produce some impressive talent and teams from around the country is Oklahoma high school football.

We continue into the Sooner State for Oklahoma high school football as Rivals looked through the season and selected award nominees from this past season. Who were the best players for the 2025 Oklahoma high school football season, though?

Rivals give you the Oklahoma high school football honorees for the 2025 season.

Football Player of the Year: Kaydin Jones, RB, Jenks

When it came to piling up the yardage whether it was on the ground or through the air via the receiving game, the Oklahoma State signee was the state’s best player on a weekly basis. Jones was the workhorse for a Trojans team that lost just once in the regular season and scored 530 points, just one point shy of the program record. During the season, Jones finished carrying the ball 265 times for 2,001 yards and scored 41 touchdowns. Catching the ball out of the backfield, Jones hauled in 38 receptions for 403 yards and scored five times. Jones set numerous school records during the regular season, which included the single game rushing yards (445), touchdowns in a contest (eight scores) and all-purpose yards in a game (549). There’s an argument to be made for others for Player of the Year, but Jones solidified it with his play in 2025.

Football Offensive Player of the Year: Carson Kirby, QB, Bixby

Now Bixby senior quarterback Carson Kirby’s numbers might be on par with some other passers throughout the state of Oklahoma, the signal caller did it under the pressure of leading a nationally ranked team throughout the 2025 season. Kirby helped navigate the Spartans to an undefeated record and eventually the OSSAA Class 6A-I state championship, guiding the team to blowouts most of the time. The senior ended the season completing 191 of 273 passes (70 percent) for 2,939 yards and 39 touchdowns. On the ground, Kirby was a threat to run the ball with 297 yards and five scores. Though it might’ve seen easy to many, playing quarterback for the state’s best team and with a national spotlight was no easy job.

Football Defensive Player of the Year: Kellen Fry, LB, Cushing

Playing one of the state’s best teams in the 4A classification, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound linebacker led a club that reached the state semifinals this past season. When it comes to the play and numbers on the field, Fry was unmatched as the linebacker finished with 200-plus tackles to conclude the 2025 campaign. Fry finished with 205 total tackles, 103 being solo takedowns, 30 of those going for a loss, 11 sacks and a fumble recovery. What made this equally impressive was the fact that Fry was asked to play a major role on offense as well, rushing for 1,053 yards and scoring six touchdowns.

Football Coach of the Year: Loren Montgomery, Bixby

We end this list with the Oklahoma high school football program and head coach that according to the Massey Ratings, was the No. 1 high school football team in the country in Bixby’s Loren Montgomery. The Bixby mastermind has seen plenty of success during his time running the Spartans, but clinching an eighth consecutive state championship is one of the most impressive feats for any team in the country. Montgomery guided the squad to a 31-17 win over Owasso to nab the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OHSAA) Class 6A-I state championship, which secured the program’s spot at the end of the season as a nationally recognized team. No matter the rankings across the country, Bixby was noticed for its dominant performances on a weekly basis and now what’s left to wonder, what will Montgomery and the Spartans do next?
