If there is another word that has captured not just the imagination of millions but flooded both classroom and boardroom conversations alike in 2025, it is the pathbreaking technology that is Artificial Intelligence, or simply AI.

World Leaders Of AI

As India gears up for its own launch into the AI-race, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani laid emphasis on India’s role in the AI revolution.

Mukesh Ambani, while speaking at eminent scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar’s book launch event, said the world has entered a new era of AI. He also added that India must become a world leader in the field of artificial intelligence.

In addition, he also emphasised the need for sustaining humanistic values and said that ‘we need empathy & compassion even more’.

He added that by combining intelligence with empathy and prosperity with purpose, India can present a new model of development to the world.

Mukesh Ambani on Mashelkar

Talking about Dr Raghunath Mashelkar and Prof. M. M. Sharma, he flipped back the pages of time to talk about how they helped Reliance and how they played a major role in helping Ambani build Reliance as a science- and deep-tech-led company.

He added that everything that Reliance has done has been validated by Prof. M. M. Sharma. Dr Mashelkar, and that the two had told him years ago that India should become a deep tech company.

In this regard, he also touched upon the country’s largest telecom company, Jio and said that there were many disbelievers in Jio, but the company eventually catapulted today’s India into the digital mainstream

Talking about Dr Mashelkar’s achievements, Ambani said, “To get one degree is difficult, & Dr Raghunath Mashelkar has earned his as if they are some frequent flying miles.”

Mukesh Ambani also added that he sees the journey of modern India in the journey of Dr Raghunath Mashelkar.
