$30,000 taken in burglary at Charlotte Street bar

A sports bar on Charlotte Street, Port of Spain, was broken into early Saturday morning, with cash stolen from the premises.

The business was secured around 11 p.m. on Friday. Around 4 a.m, the alarm system activated due to movements inside the premises.

A police corporal, who was in the area in a private capacity, observed several individuals entering and exiting the business. He raised the alarm, and the suspects fled along Charlotte Street.

The victim reported leaving approximately $20,000 in the cash register and $10,000 in the office. Entry and exit were made via a broken glass door on the side of the premises.
