What is your favorite workout or drill and why?
My favorite workout is a session with Goldfeet my trainer Tevin Allen. Covers all the breaks and transitions.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player in the next 3 years?
I’m looking to continue to get better every off season and continue getting opportunities with other leagues such as the NFL, UFL, or CFL again. I was top 3 in the LFA in interceptions and would like to win that title outright in the next league I play in.
What is one thing scouts should see about your game and why?
Relentless effort and versatility, I hustle on every play like it’s the play of the game. My football IQ having played every position on the backend and playing offense has helped me tremendously. My versatility has been proven being able to blitz, stop the run, and eliminate teams best WR.
What does a normal day look like for Brian Hughes?
A normal day for me begins with dropping my kids off at school. Followed by workout at the gym around lunch time. Field session in the later afternoon. Watching film and studying other players game to try and use everything to my advantage. Spending time with my family to end the night.
Which current or former NFL coach would you want to learn from the most and why?
A current team I think I could learn a lot from would be either the Broncos or the Seahawks their defensive backs I feel like play at a elite level and I could learn a lot from those guys and coaches.
What was your favorite experience from the last team you were on?
My favorite experience from the last team I played on was playing in the LFA championship game (Mexican Super Bowl) we lost 13-12 setting history for lowest point difference in championship game. This was a super fun experience and I’m grateful for my teammates and coaches and the LFA for being able to be apart of it.
Which one of your former teammates deserves a chance and why?
I can’t pick just one I would say our defense was moving at an elite level across the board. Johnny Hudson, Vaughn Taylor, Jamoi Hodge, J Reed, Colby Burton. These players can play at the pro level and thrive I believe.
What makes you an intriguing player that deserves to be signed?
What makes me an intriguing signing is I took off two years from college to be a father returned to college graduated with my bachelors degree in business and from a NAIA school was able to sign with a CFL team right out of college. Following my release from CFL I didn’t quit, I played in the indoor football league and helped my team to the playoffs in 6 games. I then played 4 games in the AFL before being picked up outdoor again for the 2025 LFA season finishing top 3 in the league. I don’t quit when adversity strikes I just keep working! I’m a Juco product over 65% of NFL players went Juco!
