Sunday Night Football: Falcons vs. Vikings

The NFL Week 2 slate of Sunday games will cap off with a Sunday Night Football matchup between the Atlanta Falcons (0-1) and the Minnesota Vikings (1-0).

The Vikings lead the all-time series between these teams, 21-11, and have won six of their seven most recent meetings. They last faced off back in December 2024, with the Vikings dominating in Minnesota, 42-21. Now, Kirk Cousins will be on the opposite sideline in his return as a backup QB for Atlanta.

“ATLANTA FALCONS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: Thanks to the Sam Howell trade, the Eagles own the Vikings’ sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Vikings lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Also, the Eagles would rather see the Falcons win the NFC South than the Bucs. Then again, Minny winning the NFC North over Green Bay would be preferable. Root for the Falcons.“
