Popular Nigerian rapper Olamide, widely known as “Badoo,” has given reasons for his decision to stop eating amala and other heavy traditional dishes.
The YBNL boss said in an interview with YouTuber Korty EO that the shift was brought about by his increased consciousness of fitness and health, particularly as he gets older.
“I don’t eat amala or heavy foods like before again. I had to slow down because I noticed they make me feel too heavy and sluggish, especially before performances or studio sessions,” Olamide said.
The rapper, who is known for his upbeat stage persona and consecutive singles, stated that dietary adjustments have enhanced his general way of life and productivity.

“I’m more conscious of what I eat now. It’s all part of growth. You can’t be young forever,” he added with a laugh.
Although Olamide said that he isn’t a huge foodie, he now favours lighter and healthier foods like caviar, sea bass, lamb chops, and veggies, particularly broccoli.
“I’m not a big fan of food. “I eat veggies. But I can kill for broccoli.
“I love broccoli, sea bass fish, lamb chops, and even caviar. Those are light meals. I don’t eat Amala; it makes me full, ” he concluded.
