Penn Entertainment to Open New Tower at M Resort in December

Entertainment

Penn Entertainment announced that a new second tower at M Resort in Henderson, Nevada, will open on December 1 following a $206 million expansion. The 384-room addition will nearly double the resort’s total capacity to 765 rooms, and guests can also look forward to a new restaurant from a celebrity chef.

Penn Entertainment Announces Date of Opening New Expansion

In a news release, Penn Entertainment CEO and president Jay Snowden expressed excitement about the company’s latest development in Henderson, following the recent grand opening of the new Hollywood Casino Joliet in Illinois. He stated that the new tower and the restaurant from The Emeril Group will enhance M Resort’s market-leading amenities and help meet the strong demand from group business and the growing local market in Henderson by providing much-needed additional room capacity.

Todd George, Penn Entertainment’s executive vice president of operations, added that with the resort’s expanded amenities and its successful partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders, M Resort is solidifying its position as a premier destination for visitors and convention attendees from across the country.

The Joliet casino and M Resort expansion are the first of four growth projects announced by Penn to begin operations. Completing the company’s $850 million investment plan are a new hotel next to the Hollywood Casino in Columbus, Ohio, and a new land-based Hollywood Casino in Aurora, Illinois. The former should be opened later in 2025, while the latter is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.

As part of the expansion, the resort’s meeting space will also grow, with the new 15,000-square-foot Montese Ballroom set to open on October 1.

For the M Resort project, Penn plans to secure $150 million in funding during the fourth quarter from Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc., at a 7.79% capitalization rate.

Chef Lagasse’s Restaurant Will Be a Central Focus Point of the Expansion

The Emeril Group, founded by Chef Emeril Lagasse, is proud to bring Meril to the Henderson community and its visitors. This will be the second location of the restaurant, named after Lagasse’s daughter. Known for its inviting atmosphere and diverse menu influenced by Lagasse’s decades of culinary experience and global travels, Meril offers a refined yet accessible dining experience that showcases the chef’s signature style.

Lagasse currently runs two other restaurants in Las Vegas: Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House at the MGM Grand and Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian. He previously operated Table 10 and Lagasse Stadium at the Venetian/Palazzo, which closed in 2017 and 2020, respectively.
