English Premier League club Nottingham Forest have opened talks with Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis over the possibility of a mutual contract termination, Soccernet.ng reports.

The last three years have been tough for Dennis. He joined Nottingham Forest from Watford in 2023 after a brilliant campaign with the Hornets that saw him contribute ten goals and six assists in 33 appearances.

However, things have not worked out well for him since then. In his first season, he got just 19 appearances in the Premier League, most of which were off the bench.

Since 2023, he has not kicked a ball for the Tricky Trees. The Super Eagles star has jumped between different loan deals at Istanbul Basaksehir, Watford, and Blackburn Rovers.

Dennis has returned to City Ground since his loan at Blackburn expired at the end of last season, but it appears that he is not in coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.

The Super Eagles star did not play any part in the pre-season, and he did not even make the matchday squad for their first two Premier League games.

Due to Emmanuel Dennis’ current situation at Nottingham Forest, both parties have opened talks on the way forward.

According to transfers expert Ben Jacobs, the Premier League club have proposed a contract termination to the Super Eagles star. But in the meantime, Dennis also has suitors from Italy.

However, no agreement has been reached. But with the transfer market closing in about six days, a decision should be made.
