No. 1 Vermont kicked off its men’s soccer season with a 2-0 win against Sacred Heart.
The Catamounts scored two in the second half, one each from Nick Lockermann and Marcell Papp. They’ll take on Boston University, which just took down New Hampshire in its season-opener.
The Terriers won on a goal from Alex Bonnington early in the second half, and Boston U. held on to take the win.
These two teams have faced one another since 2012, when they drew in a scoreless match in Boston. The Terriers actually hold the series lead at 25-11-9 since 1972.
