The big one, San Diego Comic-Con, just took place, and as ever Mineralblu were there for Kotaku, capturing the very best cosplay to appear at the convention. Featuring fits from movies still in theaters, as well as some stone-cold classics, the event draws in some of the biggest names in the field.
San Diego Comic-Con has been running for an extraordinary 55 years, housing the annual Eisner Awards, and is the go-to event for the big movie and TV production companies to reveal their upcoming projects and brand-new trailers. (This year, among many others, we had first looks at It: Welcome To Derry, Starfleet Academy, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, and Predator: Badlands.) With over 130,000 people attending and some of the biggest names in Hollywood appearing on panels, it’s undoubtedly one of the biggest events in geekdom every year. Which means it also draws in some absolutely fantastic cosplay. We’ve got some photo highlights below, but if you’d like to see even more, here’s Mineralblu’s video documenting the event.
Our photos below feature a mindblowing Galactus costume, a whole lot of splendid Marvel fits, an incredible Samus, and the coolest Ewok you’ve seen in forever. Oh, and Kermit the Frog! Not a costume, but the most perfect puppet crafting. There’s even a stunning outfit based on the as-yet-unreleased Tron: Ares. Let’s start with that.
