Ruri Rocks Anime Trailer Puts Spotlight on Shoko Seto

The Ruri Rocks anime is ongoing as part of the summer 2025 season, and we have more characters to focus on thanks to the occasional new previews. The latest character trailer to hit YouTube via Aniplex puts the spotlight on Shoko Seto, who rookie voice actor Saki Hayashi plays as her first anime role.
Here’s what Hayashi had to say on her official X (formerly Twitter) account:
My first anime, my first voice recording session on set, and the people who supported me even though I was unfamiliar with the process… It’s kind of moving to think that my voice is being conveyed through the anime and Shoko. Anyway, Shoko is too cute!!”
Ruri Rocks stars Miyari Nemoto as Ruri Tanigawa and Asami Seto as Nagi Arato alongside Yume Miyamoto as Yōko Imari, Saki Hayashi as Shōko Seto and Misuzu Yamada as Aoi Kasamaru.
The series features animation production by StudioBind (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation), a joint venture of Egg Firm and White Fox. It’s directed by Shingo Fujii (ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister!). Scripts are being handled by Michiko Yokote (Shirobako).
The anime adaptation is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
The manga by Shibuya (who has a master’s degree in mineralogy), also known as Ruri no Hoseki, is about a high school student named Ruri who loves jewelry who visits a mountain to mine for crystals and meets Nagi, a graduate student in mineralogy, who leads her into the world of mineral collecting. It’s been running since 2019.
