Salman Khan

Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is gearing up for what he calls one of the most physically challenging roles of his career in the upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan. Based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China, the film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia, known for Shootout at Lokhandwala.

‘It’s a very, very difficult film to do’

Speaking to PTI, Salman shared that Battle of Galwan has pushed his endurance to new limits. “Every day it gets more and more difficult. I have to give more time now for training. Earlier I could manage in a week or two, but now it’s running, kicking, punching – all that stuff,” he said. The film’s high-altitude shoot in Ladakh and scenes in icy water add to the physical toll, he added.

Filming begins soon, release likely in January

The 59-year-old actor confirmed that filming will begin shortly with a 20-day shoot in Ladakh followed by seven to eight days in cold water. Contrary to tradition, Battle of Galwan will not release on Eid. When asked about a release date, Salman said simply, “Yes, January.”

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ sequel in the works

Salman also confirmed that a sequel to his 2015 blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan is in development. “It will carry the same emotional core but it’s a different film,” he noted, as the original completes a decade this week.

Passion for riding, with a word of caution

At a press event for the Indian Supercross Racing League, where he serves as brand ambassador, Salman expressed his love for cycling and biking. “Though I don’t get to ride as often now, I’ve always been a rider,” he said, urging fans not to race on public roads. While the exact date is yet to be mentioned, as the Salman Khan starrer movie is slated to be released somewhere around in 2026.
