Mason King broke onto the scene in 2023 with a standout season at Illinois State, earning First Team All-Conference honors and being named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Year. In his debut campaign after transferring from Northern Illinois, he rushed for 983 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 150 carries, averaging a remarkable 6.6 yards per attempt. King quickly became the focal point of the Redbirds’ offense and one of the most productive and explosive running backs in the FCS.
Built with a blend of size, balance, and vision, King excels at making defenders miss and picking up yards after contact. His sharp footwork and field awareness allow him to navigate through traffic and consistently break open big plays. With a physical, downhill running style and the agility to avoid tackles, he’s a tough assignment for any defense. After missing the 2024 season due to a knee injury, King is back and expected to form one of the top running back tandems in college football alongside Wenkers Wright. Poised for a strong comeback, King looks to reestablish himself as one of the premier FCS running back prospects in the nation.
