Brazil Women clinched a narrow 5-run win over Nigeria Women via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in a rain-affected match at the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament on Wednesday at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium.
Chasing a modest target of 93 set by Nigeria, Brazil were 59 for 4 when rain halted play. With no possibility of resumption, the South Americans were declared winners by DLS calculations.

Earlier, Nigeria posted 92 runs on a sluggish surface, with Brazil’s tight bowling and sharp fielding restricting any major breakthroughs.
The closely fought encounter highlighted Brazil’s growing stature in international women’s cricket.
The Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament is held annually in Rwanda in memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
As part of the commemorative activities, participating teams, including Rwanda’s national side, visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay their respects and deepen their understanding of the country’s history.
