Report: Atletico Madrid keeping tabs on Super Eagles star with 11 Premier League goals

Soccer

LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on a Super Eagles forward as a replacement for Angel Correa who is leaving this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Atleti have a pretty old squad, with some of their best legs already 30 or on the other side. They also do not have enough attacking talents to compete like their LaLiga rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.

This summer, the club is set to lose Correa, who is expected to join Tigres UNAL, potentially ending a ten-year stint. As such, the club will need to sign a replacement.

According to Atletico Universe, Los Colchoneros have identified Super Eagles forward as a potential target. The 27-year-old attacker operates from the left wing, just like Correa.

BREAKING – Matteo Moretto (@MatteMoretto): “The only club I would keep the door open for when it comes to Ademola Lookman is Atlético de Madrid. There’s a very good relationship between Atalanta and Atlético de Madrid.”@YouTube/@Objetivoatleti pic.twitter.com/YQjytmQPpp

He has proven to be a revelation at Serie A club Atalanta over the last three years, contributing 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances for La Dea.

This is a stark improvement from the 11 goals and six assists he contributed in 96 games when he was in the Premier League with Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City.

Soccer What will Ademola Lookman bring to Atletico Madrid?

Ademola Lookman has proven to be one of the forwards in Europe over the last three years. Fans will not forget how he scored a hat-trick in the final of the Europa League last year.

He is quick, nifty, and can score goals. Lookman is also a clutch player, as he can deliver the goods when the chips are down.

Lookman would fit into coach Diego Simeone’s style at Atletico Madrid, as he is a hard worker on the pitch and offers a lot defensively.

Signing Lookman would be good piece of business for Atalanta, plus he is valued at around €60 million on Transfermarkt.

Lookman is also being monitored by Arsenal, Juventus, Napoli, and Barcelona. If Atletico Madrid want him, they will have to move fast.
