Voice actor Yurika Kubo (Classroom of the Elite‘s Kikyo Kushida) announced on Tuesday she had gotten married. She thanked her supporters and noted her husband is a non-celebrity.
To everyone who supports me and everyone who cares about me,
At a time when the summer sky is shining brightly, I apologize for raising a personal matter, but I, Yurika Kubo, have been fortunate enough to marry a non-celebrity.
Also, this may not normally be something I would go out of my way to reveal in a written message, but…
If I were to convey my honest feelings to everyone as honestly as possible, I would say I am more surprised than anyone else by this situation.
I am truly unable to accept this.
And while I cannot say “nothing will change,” I intend to work even harder than ever before as a person and as an voice actor, so I would appreciate your kind support.
Finally, I wish you all good health and happiness.

As of press time, Kubo’s post received nearly 2,000 replies, most of which are congratulations from her fans and colleagues. Notably, fellow voice actor Satomi Akesaka joked about Kubo marrying before her: “Aaaaah don’t go! I’m happy and it’s good news but don’t go!” In response, Kubo joked, “Ake-chan, I’m right here! I’m here. I’m happy to receive your message, but I can’t see you, Ake-chan (let’s go for yakitori).”
Kubo has appeared in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest as Touka, the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? franchise as Loki, My Deer Friend Nokotan as Neko Nekoyamada, among others. Her agency lists her full résumé.
