Body-Swapping Thriller ‘Decalcomania’ From Singapore-Thailand Partnership Sets December Bow

Entertainment

Singapore’s Mocha Chai Laboratories and Thai entertainment company The One Enterprise are co-producing “Decalcomania,” an eight-part mystery thriller featuring a body-swapping premise.

The series, currently filming in Singapore and Bangkok, follows two women who mysteriously swap souls after a car accident. Neungdeaw Ananthikun is a 26-year-old Bangkok nightclub owner with a troubled past, while Leia Woo is a Singapore socialite protected by a pharmaceutical tycoon.

Leading the cast is Thai star Mookda Narinrak, pulling double duty as both characters, alongside fellow Thai actors Hussawee Pakrapongpisan, Pat Chayanit Chansangavej (“Dalah”), Chai Chatayodom Hiranyatithi (“Master of the House”), and Thaneth Warakulnukroh (“Mad Unicorn”). Singapore representation comes courtesy of Pierre Png (“Crazy Rich Asians”) and rising talent Gladys Ng, with veteran Singaporean actor Hong Hui Fang making a special guest appearance.

The project has been brewing since 2021, when Singaporean creator Chai Yee-Wei (director of “Wonderland”) first conceived the series with co-creator and screenwriter Chance Wanlass. The show gained momentum at the Asian Television Forum in December 2022, where executive producer Michelle Chang pitched the concept to The One Enterprise.

“Everyone’s talking about co-productions these days, but making them truly work is no easy feat — it takes trust, flexibility, and a willingness to break away from traditional ways of doing things,” Chang said. “That’s why finding a partner like The One Enterprise team, who not only respects the original vision but is also willing to double down and invest in it, has been nothing short of inspiring.”

The creative partnership pairs Thai showrunner Nipon Pewnen with a writing team headed by Wattana Weerayawattana (“Thicha”), bringing together development teams from both countries to craft what they describe as content “made for Thai audiences but with regional and international appeal.”

“The opportunity to develop this story is truly exceptional,” Pewnen said. “This compelling narrative about human experience aims to transcend boundaries and leave a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.”

The production boasts serious technical credentials, with veteran art director Pawas Sawatchaiyamet (“Monkey Man,” “Grisse”) handling production design and visual effects wizard Lee Stringer (“Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell,” “Star Trek,” “Star Wars: Clone Wars”) overseeing VFX. Post-production will be completed at MCL’s Singapore facility.

Funding comes via the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s International Co-Production Grant, positioning “Decalcomania” as what the producers call “a creative bridge — linking Southeast Asian voices, cultures, and passions through a powerful, shared story.”

The series is set to debut on Thailand’s ONE31 and OneD streaming platform in December 2025, with Singapore’s Mediacorp MeWATCH following with a local broadcast.

For MCL, this represents another step in the boutique studio’s international expansion. The company has previously worked with partners including Apple, HBO Asia, Amazon, and Disney+, with recent credits including the award-winning film “Wonderland” (now on Netflix) and international series “Venus On Mars” with CJ ENM HK.

The One Enterprise, meanwhile, continues to position itself as Thailand’s go-to source for premium content across multiple demographics, operating not just ONE31 but overseeing marketing for Channel GMM 25 and running popular radio stations including EFM, Green Wave, and Chill Online.
