AC Milan plan shock transfer for Super Eagles star on Manchester United’s radar

Soccer

Former Italian Serie A champions AC Milan are desperately in search of a striker this summer, and they have identified a Super Eagles star as a potential target, Soccernet.ng reports.

AC Milan are coming off dismal campaign that saw them finish eighth in Serie A, outside the continental football spots.

They were also underwhelming on the continent, as they were dumped out of the UEFA Champions League in the round of 16 playoffs.

Due to their poor campaign, AC Milan parted ways with coach Sergio Conceicao the end of the campaign and appointed Italian tactician Massimiliano Allegri.

The former Serie A champions are expected to have a busy summer transfer market, as some players will leave to make space for others.

One position that is set to undergo a real shake-up is the center-forward position. Francesco Camarda, Tammy Abraham, Joao Felix, and Luka Jovic are expected to leave this summer.

This means that Santiago Gimenez will be the only out-and-out marksman left at the club. As such, AC Milan will need to sign a striker.

Soccer Who is the Super Eagles striker that AC Milan are eyeing?

According to Football Italia, AC Milan are keeping tabs on Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare.

The 24-year-old Nigerian striker has attracted a lot of attention following an impressive campaign with Genk that saw him register 23 goals and seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Manchester United are showing interest in Genk striker Tolu Arokodare.

He finished as the top goalscorer in the Belgian Pro League in 2024/25, with 17 goals in 30 games.

Clubs like Stuttgart, Benfica, and most recently, Manchester United have been rumored to be interested in him, albeit none of them have made a move yet.

Arokodare has a different profile from Gimenez, as he is big and strong. As such, he brings a different dimension, depending on the game.

The Super Eagles star will also come at a bargain, as he is valued at €18 million on Transfermarkt. Genk will likely sell too, as Arokodare has two years left on his contract.

In an earlier report by Soccernet.ng, Arokodare is willing to join Manchester United. Hence, AC Milan will have to move quickly if they want to get their man.
