Kylian Mbappe has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted with acute gastroenteritis.

Real Madrid announced on Thursday that Mbappe was suffering from the illness and, as such, had been admitted to hospital for further tests and treatment.

Later in the day, Madrid then released an update revealing he had returned to the club’s training base and “will continue with specific medical treatment and will gradually return to team activity”.

He missed training on Tuesday, as well as Madrid’s Club World Cup opener against Al-Hilal on Wednesday.

Their next game in the tournament is against Pachuca on Sunday, though it is unclear if Mbappe will be available for Xabi Alonso’s side.
