Super Eagles and Rangers forward, Cyriel Kolawole Dessers, is poised to exit Scotland to head to Greek side, AEK Athens, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 30-year-old joined Rangers for €5m on a four-year deal from Serie A side, Cremonese in 2023, and although he never fully captured the attention of the Ibrox Crowd, the Belgium-born Nigerian scored 51 goals and provided 16 assists in 109 appearances for Rangers across two seasons.

With two years left on his contract, Dessers has now set sights on a move away from the club he’s called home for the last two years.

Dessers has verbally agreed to a £30,000-a-week deal with Greek Champions that will see him earn around 1.8 million euros annually. The only details of the transfer left to be completed is with Rangers. With the striker, he’s set to go.

As per Ibrox News, Rangers new owners, 49ers, are keen on a a squad overhaul and their new sporting director, considers selling Dessers as a no-brainer decision.

Transfer expert, Keith Jackson, revealed AEK Athens submitted an offer of £4m for the SPFL Golden boot winner.

“[Dessers] misses too many chances in big moments and big matches. He’s capable of some outrageous finishes. In an ideal world for Rangers, you’d probably keep him, and he’s a good option to have, but I’m not sure that’s the situation that Rangers are in just now.

“Can they afford to turn down decent money for a player who can be so frustratingly hit and miss? I think that becomes difficult for Rangers to turn down,” the journalist told Hotline Live.

With Dessers poised for a move to Greece, Moroccan youngster, Hamza Igamane, will be the man to fill the goalscoring boots in Rangers attack.
