YouTuber Ms. Rachel Reveals Reason for Her Months-Long Absence
Hi friends, Ms. Rachel has some exciting news.
The YouTuber—whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso—announced she and husband Aron Accurso have welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Susannah, who joins big brother Thomas, 7.
“Sometimes timing isn’t what you plan and the road to get there is bumpier than you expect,” Rachel wrote in the caption of her April 8 post, “but when you hold your little ones you know… I’m meant to be your mama.”
In the accompanying picture, Rachel holds Susannah close to her chest as she smiles down at the newborn, who is clad in a heart onesie.
The beloved children’s creator shared she and Aron welcomed Susannah though a surrogate, as she was “unable to carry this pregnancy for medical reasons,” noting the surrogate gave the family “the most precious gift possible.”
“We are now all family forever,” the 42-year-old continued. “We have immense gratitude and a deep bond. It’s been a truly beautiful experience. I’m in awe of her.”
Rachel also made sure to share a sweet shoutout to her husband, who she thanked for being “the best husband and dada!”
The family’s announcement comes amid Rachel’s prolonged absence from YouTube, though Susannah’s arrival might help fill in some of the blanks. After all, on March 19 Rachel responded to a fan asking about her absence with, “We’ve had some family things to attend to.”

Susannah’s arrival also coincides with an exciting new endeavor for the kids educator, whose content is so beloved—by kids and adults alike—that it earned her a new partnership with Netflix.
The four-episode season debuted in January, with the streaming giant noting the series would bring to life the best of Ms. Rachel, culminating as “a curated compilation of her playful, research-backed videos for every stage of a child’s development, from early language skills to phonics and learning to read.”

The series quickly found success, with Rachel writing on Instagram Jan. 28, “#1 Kids Show on Netflix in US today. Thank you all!”
